The AG-STEM Project

Connecting Classrooms with Farming Communities

The Vision
Cultivate a nationally connected AG-STEM community that empowers a diverse and inclusive body of students to become passionate figureheads in sustainable food systems and environmental stewardship.

The Mission
Provide inclusive and culturally responsive AG-STEM K-12 programming that inspires students to become agricultural authorities, capable of meeting the challenges and opportunities present in designing equitable food systems in a rapidly evolving world.

Project Overview
This hands-on learning opportunity reveals agronomic uses of the STEM learning objectives that are covered in K-12 curriculum. The AG-STEM Project also facilitates a personal introduction to local BIPOC agriculture professionals and STEM scholars from around the nation. Students will explore the many ways science and mathematics are applied in agriculture while developing an appreciation for diversity, a strong sense of community and a desire for personal development.
