Valerie Cheathon

Valerie Cheathon, founder and STEM enthusiast of I AM STEM ABLE LLC. Her own journey in STEM education shaped her approach to helping others shine in their STEM courses.

"My personal experiences - all the mistakes, long nights, self doubt and actually acquiring math degrees - fuel my desire to help others achieve more in STEM than I ever dreamt I could."

Valerie was inspired by the birth of her two children to start her non traditional education journey at Truckee Meadows Community College. She continued on to attend Arizona State University (West Campus) and Washington State University where she earned her BS and MS in mathematics respectively.

"My goal now is too seek out those students who need richer STEM learning experiences; help student believe that they can achieve any STEM goal that they desire."
